I finished up my editorial illustration class today, my official last class ever at RIT. It was fun, and I learned a lot working with graphic designers. It was a new experience because the illustration classes here never really required collaboration. The designers I worked with (in order from top to bottom) are Matty Brownell, Jess Crawford, and Kristin Duhaime.

Sketch dump from Dr. Sketchy’s! The second to last one was our prize winning group drawing and the last one is my sketch that won the prize for best in show. It was a fun night, and great practice because I hadn’t figure drawn in over a year. Everyone should definitely check out the next event, whenever it may be.

And the prints are up!

Go check ‘em out :D

I can’t decide which, if either of these, should go into the senior illustration show. The steampunk-ish piece was too big for the scanner so the top and bottom are cut off, ah well. Space hair girl isn’t done yet, I’m planning on finishing her tonight but I can’t decide if I should shade her skin with graphite or just do clean black linework. I also haven’t decided whether or not I want to add a background to it… So, dear people of tumblr, I humbly request your feedback (and will probably do so later again tonight with other pieces because I am a terrible judge of my own work).
